Square brings Virtual Terminal to the UK
Square late last month has launched its Virtual Terminal service in the U.K., which enables merchants to accepts payments directly on their computers.
"Virtual Terminal is something our sellers have been asking us for and has already proved hugely popular around the world," Sarah Harvey, who is Square's lead in the U.K., said in a press release. "We are pleased to be bringing it to the UK’s thriving community of small and medium-sized businesses."
Virtual Terminal enables businesses to accept payments through the Square dashboard. The company said it's ideal for professional service providers and independent contractors that don't regularly accept in-person payments.
Square launched Virtual Assistant in the U.S. in October and it is also now live Australia, Canada and Japan. The company said the system has processed more than $300 million in cumulative gross processing volume.
