Solarisbank becomes first bank in Germany to fully migrate to the cloud

Solarisbank AG, one of Europe's leading Banking-as-a-Service platforms, announced that it is the first bank in Germany to successfully migrate all of its core banking systems, digital products and databases to an AWS cloud. Solarisbank selected AWS as a strategic cloud provider to benefit from its global infrastructure and set of services, according to a press release.

The migration from the on-premise datacenter to the AWS cloud took a year and was completed in November. Migrating to the cloud has been a key initiative for the bank to offer the most effective conditions for scale and automation to its growing customer bases of its partners.

"Solarisbank is a tech company at heart. By migrating our entire infrastructure to AWS, we have equipped ourselves to create exceptional banking experiences for our partners and paved the way for our European expansion. With the shift to a cloud-first mentality, we have also become nimbler in our product development. I am proud of the team for completing the migration so swiftly and without any downtime or impact to our customers," Hima Mandali, CTO of Solarisbank, said in the release.
