SLA Mobile celebrates 10 years in business

The Belfast, Northern Ireland-based technology solutions and consultancy company SLA Mobile is about to celebrate its 10th anniversary.

SLA opened on Sept. 23, 2003, as a professional services and software development business in the mobile ecosystem. The company now has more than 90 specialist employees, according to an announcement, and helps mobile operators and merchants deliver future-oriented solutions and services that help them compete and increase customer lifetime value.

"We are delighted to reach this 10-year milestone," CEO Nic Stirk said in a news release. "[It] demonstrates our commitment to providing mobile operators and merchants with valuable propositions that deliver competitive advantage."

The company said its key mobile technology propositions include direct operator billing and right time, right place marketing, and credits its growth in part to support from organizations such as Vodafone, XL Axiata and Vodafone Hutchinson Australia.

Among industry awards, SLA Mobile has received the Deloitte Best Managed Companies Award for the past three years, and it made the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 list in 2010, recognizing it as one of the country's 50 fastest-growing technology companies.

"The last 10 years have been filled with both challenges and achievements," Stirk said. "Moving forward we will continue to work with mobile operators to explore and drive new opportunities, maximizing revenue streams that in turn deliver real commercial value to mobile users and merchants alike."
