Shell and Fuel Rewards are collaborating with food delivery platform DoorDash to offer a savings of 10 cents per gallon when their drivers fill up using a Fuel Rewards membership.

The program follows a sharp increase in demand for delivery services due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which forced restaurants to switch from in store dining to takeout and delivery service only. DoorDash has also started delivering essential purchases to customers, to include prescription drugs and convenience store goods.

"We know demand for food delivery services from partners like DoorDash has greatly increased over the past few months," Todd Gulbransen, manager, North American Loyalty & CRM at Shell, said in a company release. "Shell is incredibly grateful for the Dashers and their hard work, and we hope to offer relief at the pump by giving them added savings and security during these uncertain times."
