Scary Strokes deploys Embed’s mobile wallet to enhance guest safety, improve customer database

Scary Strokes, an indoor mini-golf, virtual reality and family entertainment center in Waldorf, Maryland, has deployed Embed's mobile wallet to provide guests contactless game play and redemption options, and allow them to top up virtual game cards without leaving the game.

Guests do not have to worry about losing game cards as they are stored in the mobile wallet and protected by encryption technology, according to a press release.

Scary Stokes was able to create a customer database to include customer contact information, transaction data and spending trends, allowing the company to develop a loyalty program.

Furthermore, the Embed team added a QR code system to the mobile wallet that enables operators to scan customers who visit their venue for registration, tracking and tracing purposes. The mobile wallet tracks what games the customer played and when. In the event that a customer tests positive for COVID, the operator has the contact information to support tracking and tracing efforts, including who played what games and when.

"It's clever and very convenient; there is no need to visit a kiosk or a staff member, guests can do everything from the comfort of their phone," Doug Roth, president and CEO of Scary Strokes, said in the release.

"As promised in March, 'make no mistake, we are going the social distance with you,' and here we are, adjusting to the new normal, with customers all over the world, re-opening and prospering during the pandemic," Renee Welsh, CEO of Solutions Group, in the release.
