ROAM Data releases newest encrypted mobile credit card reader

Payment technology provider ROAM Data announced its latest secure mobile card reader, the G3X. The G3X represents ROAM's third-generation mobile reader, the company said, and supports hundreds of devices, from iOS, Android and Blackberry, to PCs and Macs. ROAM Data said the G3X covers three times more devices than all other competing readers combined.

"We are committed to providing our partners with industry leading mobile commerce solutions, the new G3X is the latest product in our pipeline of products to come, which includes NFC and EMV readers for 2012, and a suite of mobile commerce solutions from mobile checkout, to mobile offers to mobile wallet," said Will Graylin, CEO and founder of ROAM Data, in the announcement.

"We are technology geeks that really know about mobile and payments and how that intersection can deliver new value to merchants and consumers," Graylin added. He said the company's goal is to build advanced, cost-effective and secure solutions for ROAM data customers.

According to the company's announcement, ROAM Data's mobile card readers have been chosen by more merchant service providers than any other. The company said it has sold the highest number of encrypted mobile readers in the world in 2011 with more than 400,000 units. Merchant service providers offering ROAM Data mobile credit card readers include Intuit, North American Bankcard, Sage Payments, First Data and Chase Paymentech.
