You can now add Venmo to the growing list of in-store payment options available to consumers as PayPal plans to add NFC-based payments to the popular person-to-person app in the near future, according to a report from Quartz.

A PayPal exec confirmed the move to Quartz and also told the publication it is in discussions with Apple to see how it can best work with them in the future for NFC payments. At the moment, Apple's NFC chip is closed to third parties.

Venmo's NFC capability will come first to Android devices in the first half of 2017, according to Quartz.
