RedPrairie developing mobile solutions for supply chain, stores

According to Retail Info Systems News, RedPrairie, a global supply chain and retail technology provider, has announced that its mobile solutions group is building a suite of mobile applications for the supply chain and stores.

"We believe that places like the warehouse and the retail store have the potential to be completely run from mobile devices," says Tom Kozenski, vice president of product strategy at RedPrairie. "Mobile technology is an intuitive, no-train platform that is ideal for certain RedPrairie users to leverage in their day-to-day interactions with our software."

RedPrairie is focusing on developing role-based mobile solutions that can be accessed by a range of mobile devices, are easy to use and require no training.

Solutions will be created for use inside the retail store, including m-commerce tools for consumers, mobile point-of-sale (POS) for associates, mobile site manager and mobile self service.

There will also be solutions for distribution roles, including an observation tool for warehouse managers, and mobile warehouse management for inventory control supervisors and workers. Route delivery and verification and fleet management will also be developed for transportation roles.
