Hong Kong has a new mPOS option.

Global Payments Asia-Pacific Ltd., a regional card payment processor in Asia, and Hong Kong mobile operator 1010 have launched the solution that enables Visa, MasterCard and JCB cards to be swiped through an EMV-certified card reader connected to a smartphone or tablet.

The solution works for Android and iOS and is aimed at merchants on the go, such as businesses with mobile sales forces, home delivery services and outdoor sales operations. Merchants can sign up at designated 1010 centers.
