Customers can transfer funds to almost anyone in multiple ways: email; text; account-to-account; check; or PayPal.

Popular Community Bank has announced the availability of Popular People Pay, which enables customers to make person-to-person payments via online and mobile banking, according to a press release.

Customers can transfer funds to almost anyone in multiple ways: email; text; account-to-account; check; or PayPal. The person receiving the money is sent a notification via text or email with instructions on how to claim it.

For customers using PayPal, payments are posted instantly. Customers may receive and send funds directly to or from their Popular Community Bank accounts. Funds may also be received by accounts that are not with Popular Community Bank, according to the announcement.

"We are focused on creating a banking experience that offers flexibility and options for our customers," said Manuel Chinea, COO of Popular Community Bank. "In the digital age, banks need to adapt to how customers interact with technology. Our approach is to stay ahead of our customers’ needs and, through our online and mobile banking platforms, give them many opportunities to bank how, when, and where they want."
