Police in Pennsylvania town seek duo installing skimmers at Aldi supermarkets
Police in Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, are investigating an alleged skimming scam by two men, who have been placing skimmers at Aldi supermarket locations in and around the town, according to a report from Krebs on Security.
Krebs reported that the skimmers are meant to capture debit PINs when consumers swipe those cards at the compromised terminals. While Aldi has terminals capable of accepting EMV payments, the company has not enabled them.
Lower Pottsgrove police are asking locals for help in identifying the two men, who have been caught on surveillance cameras installing the skimmers.
