Pepsico rolls out cashback digital loyalty program with PayPal, Venmo

If you like your soda and chips early and often, Pepsico has a deal for you as the company has launched a cashback loyalty program with PayPal and Venmo called PepCoin by Pepsico, according to a press release.

Consumers buying a single-serve Pepsico beverage or Frito-Lay snack together can now get cash rewards if they scan the code on their bag or under the bottle cap with their smartphone. Every time they accumulate $2 in rewards, they get that money transferred to their Venmo or PayPal account.

"We're thrilled to help bring Pepsico closer to their consumers for the PepCoin loyalty program," Leann Sheraton, vice president of marketing at PayPal, said in the press release. "Venmo and PayPal's payout solutions provide the ability for physical brands to engage with their customers digitally, while offering a convenient way for consumers to redeem and spend their cash rewards."

Consumers can choose between more than 70 different snack and beverage brands, from Lay's and Pepsi to Doritos, Cheetos, SunChips Harvest Cheddar to beverages that include Aquafina and Mountain Dew.
