Payvia announces new platform, deals with Sprint, T-Mobile

Payvia Inc., a direct carrier biller, announced it has launched its next-generation mobile payments platform and agreements with Sprint and T-Mobile USA.

"We are excited to unveil our new mobile payments solution delivering a convenient payment option that complements merchant checkouts to reduce abandoned transactions, increase conversions and deliver more paying customers," said Darcy Wedd, president of payvia.

Payvia lets consumers buy digital goods by placing the purchase directly on their carrier bill. The company said it has processed more than $2 billion for merchants and developers. The new deals with Sprint and T-Mobile mean that payvia's merchant partners can now offer mobile subscribers from those carriers a direct carrier billing option.

The company, part of the m-Qube carrier billing transaction network, is headquartered in Los Angeles with offices in Seattle and Boston.
