PayPay now a mobile payment option across Samsung universe

PayPal has a new partnership with Samsung that will help developers and users pay and get paid for mobile content such as apps, e-books and more.

In an announcement, PayPal said it has been working with developers since 2009 to help monetize their applications. The company said it is now available as a payout option for Samsung Apps developers, so instead of waiting several days for wire transfers, the developers can now get paid quickly and securely through PayPal while gaining access to 132 million PayPal customers around the world.

"When it comes time to make payments, people want fast, easy and choice across any connected device," the announcement on the PayPal website said. "That's why we're making it easier for Samsung Apps and Samsung Hub users to pay for their apps, music, movies, TV shows, e-books and games. Samsung Apps and Samsung Hub consumers can simply authenticate with PayPal to make a purchase. In a few seconds, they can start downloading their favorite TV show or book without the burden of entering their credit card or address information."

PayPal said its mobile payment volume increased from $141 million in 2009 to $14 billion in 2012 and is expected to reach $20 billion this year.

PayPal is available as a payout option for Samsung Apps developers globally and available as a payment option for Samsung Apps and Samsung Hub in Australia, Italy, France, Germany, Malaysia, Singapore, Spain and U.K., with the U.S. coming soon.
