Payleven links prepaid debit with mPOS offering

The provider has teamed with Visa to enable Brazilian merchants to receive their funds from mPOS transactions directly to an account associated with the card.

Mobile point-of-sale provider payleven has teamed with Visa on a prepaid debit card that enables Brazilian merchants to receive their funds from mPOS transactions directly to an account associated with the card.

Payleven said in a press release the prepaid card will be issued under the merchant's name and delivered with a chip-and-PIN card reader. The owner may use it to make purchases and withdraw money at a Visa Plus ATM. Additionally, all purchases made with the prepaid credit card appear in their payleven account to help keep track of all activities, according to the announcement.

“With the new partnership and our new product, we are not only driving innovation but aso moving forward as a financial technology company," Konstantin Wolff, managing director and co-founder of payleven, said in a statement. "The payleven Visa prepaid card increases the market for our mPOS solution and offers a large number of entrepreneurs access to electronic payments for the first time."

The Payleven press release did not disclose the name of the card-issuing bank nor any fees that might be associated with the card.
