PassportParking releases mobile payment tools for providers, commuters
More companies are beginning to see the convenience of mobile payments as a way to pay for parking. Charlotte, N.C.-based PassportParking announced it has launched its new cloud-based mobile payment system for parking.
The company said its PassportParking Mobile Pay system has been developed to help both parking providers and the parkers themselves. Operators get real-time monitoring and control of their facilities. Customers dispense with change and pay for parking by using a mobile app, sending a text message, or placing a good old-fashioned phone call.
There are already several companies that provide parking lot operators and municipalities the ability to integrate pay-by-phone into their lots, but PassportParking said its cloud-based solution provides operators the complete ability to manage their lots, including setting rates, ticketing and enforcement, and real-time monitoring, all from the Internet.
"Our goal isn’t to match products currently in the market, it is to exceed them," said Charlie Youakim, managing partner at PassportParking. He said the new release is the first of many releases the company has planned for the mobile segment.
The PassportParking app is available for both iOS and Android devices. Customers need only register to use the service and pay for parking. The system will also alert them when their time is up and let them purchase more time.
Besides managing their parking facilitites, operators who use PassPort Parking Mobile Pay also have the option to partner with nearby businesses to offer parking validation services.
