ParkMobile to offer mobile payment parking in Nashville

Parkmobile USA Inc. announced that motorists in downtown Nashville, Tenn., will be able to pay for parking using apps on their iPhones, BlackBerrys and Android smartphones. Parkmobile said it is partnering in the effort with Premier Parking, a Nashville-area parking management company that has more than 70 lots and 15,000 parking spots under its management.

"Parkmobile is very excited to add Premier Parking to its growing list of clients who have chosen to offer pay-by-phone parking technology as a means of servicing their parking locations," said Brent Paxton, EVP of Parkmobile USA Inc.

To use the new Parkmobile system, motorists can register at www.parkmobile.com. There is no fee to use the service. Registered customers can then use a mobile app, the Internet or a toll free phone call to 877-727-5015 to pay for parking.

Motorists can also select the option to receive text message alerts and reminders.

Paying for parking by mobile phone is becoming an increasingly popular application for mobile payments. New York City just announced it will be testing parking meters that can be "fed" via mobile phones.
