Onebip wins European Games Group mobile payments deal

The mobile payments company Onebip has been selected by European Games Group as the exclusive provider of mobile payments for its games in key European countries, including the U.K., France, Greece and Poland.

Owned by Rome-based Neomobile, Onebip provides mobile carrier billing technology that enables consumers to pay for purchases of digital goods and services via their mobile phone bills. Onebip said it is connected to 250 mobile carriers in 70 countries.

European Games Group has more than 12 million players of its games, which are free to play but require payment for the purchase of additional features.

The company will use Onebip’s payments technology for its new and existing games, according to Onebip. Players will be able to buy additional skills, energy and equipment for their games via their mobile phone and charge purchases directly to their mobile bills through Onebip.

Separately, Onebip has won a contract to deliver in-app payments for the geosocial mobile music network Soundtracker’s Android device users in Italy.

Soundtracker allows users to create up to five music stations for free with the option to purchase a package of 10 stations within the app for .99 Euros (43 cents U.S.).

Onebip said Soundtracker has integrated the Onebip Android SDK to give its Android users the ability to make one-time payments within the app in a single click. Following rollout to Soundtracker’s Italian users, the next phase of integration will see Onebip’s in-app payments rolled out to the rest of Europe and Latin America.
