Onebip offers single-click payment for mobile purchases

Mobile commerce company Neomobile announced its Onebip unit is offering a "single-click" purchase feature for its Onebip Mobile Browser. The features gives mobile consumers a quicker, more intuitive method for purchasing digital content and services such as music and video downloads, virtual currency, media subscriptions and games.

"Mobile commerce doesn't get any quicker or easier than Onebip," said Onebip's head Massimiliano Silenzi. "Merchants, publishers and content providers at last have a simple, secure, single-click mobile purchasing solution."

Silenzi said the new Onebip single click feature uses no PINs, passwords or SMS confirmations, and doesn't require users to pre-register for an account. It literally takes one click to buy on a mobile phone or tablet.

"With its new single-click functionality, Onebip raises the bar for mobile payments and mobile commerce globally — helping digital merchants to monetize their products and services, and setting the standard in providing an intuitive, optimized and frictionless user experience for consumers," Silenzi said.

Onebip uses an encrypted identification process to recognize a user's phone number, the company said. The process provides a secure, automatic authentication eliminating the need for passowrds or PINs to verify the purchase. With a single click on the Onebip icon, the purchase is confirmed and the amount of the purchase is put on the user's mobile phone bill.

Not only does Onebip's single click make digital purchases easier, by supporting direct carrier billing it also allows users without access to credit or bank accounts to buy mobile content.

Onebip also detects things like the type of device being used (i.e. tablet vs. smartphone) or whether the purchase is coming through an app or website. It then optimizes the payment flow based on that criteria. Onebip also adapts to wireless carriers' secure-billing policies and requirements and supports all leading smartphone platforms.

Onebip and its one-click purchasing feature is available to merchants and publishers in several of the 70 markets already covered by Onebip, including France, Italy, Spain, Brazil and Mexico. Carriers in the U.S., Northern Europe and Latin America will be included in the next two quarters.
