Nigerians generally aren't familiar with mobile money services available in their country, and of those who are, only a relatively small percentage are using the services, All Africa reports.

The findings, from a poll conducted by NOI Polls Limited, a Nigerian opinion polling and research firm, show that nearly six in 10 Nigerians (59 percent) aren't aware of mobile money services, and of the 41 percent who are, only 13 percent, or about 20 million people, have adopted them.

The poll also showed that teens, young and middle-age adults are more willing to adopt mobile payments.
