Mobile security company Omlis expands presence in Latin America

Mobile payments technology provider Omlis announced Monday that it has further strengthened its presence in the Latin American mobile payments arena with a strategic partnership with Stratus Technologies Mexico, the leading provider of infrastructure-based electronic payment systems in Mexico, and other key South American territories, according to a press release. 

Omlis said in the announcement that its strategic partnership with Stratus Technologies Mexico is meant to ensure the security of mobile payments in the country. Omlis will enable speedy regulatory compliance while adhering to current FAFT guidance, therefore delivering the required secure mobile banking capability for the new regulated accounts in Mexico, according to the press release.

Stratus Technologies Mexico is a significant provider of payments systems in Mexico, according to the press release. It currently partners with two of the three major supermarket chains in Mexico, as well as processing approximately 50 percent of credit and debit card transactions, 60 percent of all cinema ticket purchases, 50 percent of bus ticket transactions and supporting 50 percent of banking services in Mexico, according to the press release.
