Mobile payments get Shangahaied
Chinese mobile operator China Unicom is working with China Merchants Bank on an NFC-powered mobile wallet service. This according to a post from ZDNet. The service will be launched first in Shanghai with a national rollout later.
To access the mobile wallet product, China Unicom subscribers need only link their CMB accounts to their SIM cards, the post said.
China Unicom is the second largest wireless provider in China with around 200 million subscribers.
