Vodacom Tanzania has formed a new partnership with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines through its M-Pesa payment service, adding to its existing list list of partner airlines.

KLM passengers will be able to pay for tickets, upgrades, excess baggage, reservation change fees, preferred seats and other services with M-Pesa, according to a press release.

Vodacom Tanzania has made similar arrangements with other airlines that include Qatar Airways, Precision Air, Kenya Airways, Air Tanzania, Fast Jet, Eagle Air and Auric Air.

"Our partnership with M-Pesa is another step in [our] endeavor to provide our customers another option to pay for tickets at their convenience," said Sharad Khuller, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines country manager for Tanzania.

"I am excited that we have another partnership that will ensure that our customers continue to enjoy the convenience and security that Vodacom M-Pesa extends to them" said Gregory Verbond, Vodacom Tanzania chief officer for the enterprise business unit. "This partnership is good for both our customers and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines."
