Keep the change: PayRange brings mobile payments to the laundromat
PayRange, maker of a mobile payment product for machines, has announced its availability for use in commercial laundries, according to a press release.
The Portland, Oregon-based company said that existing machines can be upgraded within two minutes to accept payment via a smartphone.
The PayRange product currently is available for Speed Queen and Maytag machines; other manufacturers are working to have their equipment certified as well, according to the announcement.
Earlier this year, MasterCard announced a partnership with PayRange to enable consumers to buy beverages and snacks with Masterpass at vending machines across 300 cities in the U.S. and Canada.
PayRange will be exhibiting its product at the Clean Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center, June 5–8.
