Intel will let online shoppers pay by tapping contactless card or NFC phone against computer
Intel is embedding technology into computers that will let online shoppers pay by tapping a contactless card or NFC-enabled mobile phone against their PC or laptop, according to Computer World.
The website reports that breakthrough is meant to provide a basis for secure and convenient e-commerce transactions, and is possible following Intel's decision to integrate NXP's "PN544PC" NFC radio controller into a selection of new computers.
Initially, the payment method will be available to MasterCard customers; the solution was built in conjunction with MasterCard's MasterPass contactless technology.
