Hungary-based MNO adds MasterPass to mobile app
Telenor said its mobile app is installed on over 250,000 smartphones.
Hungary-based mobile operator Telenor announced it has integrated MasterCard's digital wallet MasterPass within its own consumer-facing app for Android and iOS, according to a press release.
MasterPass will make it possible for users to to purchase goods on Ihe internet or in app through the Telenor Wallet in a simple, according to the announcement.
"We are pleased to announce that Telenor is the first mobile network operator in the world to launch a MasterPass-enabled wallet," Aleksandra Banovic, chief digital service officer at Telenor, said in a statement.
Telenor said its mobile app is installed on over 250,000 smartphones in Hungary.
European-based mobile wallet provider Cellum developed the Telenor Wallet and added the MasterPass feature.
