GoSwiff lands mPOS deal with telecom provider

The partnership will cover nine markets including Algeria, Indonesia, Iraq, Kuwait, Myanmar, Maldives, Oman, Qatar and Tunisia.

Ooredoo Group, a telecommunications provider that operates in the Middle East, North Africa and Southeast Asia, has selected GoSwiff to deploy its international mobile point-of-sale system, according to a press release.

The partnership will cover nine markets including Algeria, Indonesia, Iraq, Kuwait, Myanmar, Maldives, Oman, Qatar and Tunisia. It will include recruiting merchants to the platform, from large corporations to micro-merchants, according to the announcement.

GoSwiff will provide Ooredoo with an integrated multipayment product including mPOS, mobile money and airtime topup for Ooredoo's merchant clients. The service will also include value added services, including merchant reward programs and consumer loyalty tools, to enable Ooredoo to better engage with its customers.

Ooredoo Group will outsource managed services for mPOS to GoSwiff — including merchant profiling, segmentation and engagement with different industry verticals.

"With its comprehensive range of services and international experience, GoSwiff is a strong partner to help Ooredoo build our mPOS platform," said H.E. Sheikh Saud Bin Nasser Al Thani, Group CEO of Ooredoo. "Combined with its global footprint and extensive capabilities in outsourcing the deployment, merchant acquisition and merchant onboarding in emerging markets, we are confident that our partnership with GoSwiff will enable us to broaden our offer and engage even more effectively with our customers."
