Google Pay has expanded its availability and is compatible with 89 additional financial institutions across the U.S. according to a report in Talk Android.

This expansion brings its total to almost 3,000 supported banks, a milestone Google has been reaching toward for the past few years, and making it one of the most broadly supported mobile payment services available.

Google Pay works with most cards and big banks, including Wells Fargo and Capital One, but this recent expansion includes smaller institutions, especially local credit unions and local area banks.
