Golden Pacific Bank teams with Digital Insight to offer mobile RDC

RDC allows Golden Pacific customers to deposit checks using the FI's mobile banking app and the camera in their mobile device.

Golden Pacific Bank, a community bank based in Sacramento, California, is introducing mobile remote deposit capture with help from Digital Insight, an NCR company. RDC allows Golden Pacific customers to deposit checks using the FI's mobile banking app and the camera in their mobile device.

"As a community bank, we base everything we do on strengthening our relationship with our customers," said Virginia Varela, CEO, Golden Pacific Bank. "When you are able to deliver products and services into your customers' hands — even on their phone — you are with them all of the time. Mobile deposit keeps our bank close at all times to our customers ... "

The newly integrated mobile remote deposit process is simple. In the Golden Pacific mobile banking app, the customer chooses "deposit check" and is prompted to take a photo of the front and back of the check.

Upon confirmation of the value of the check, the image is transmitted for processing. The customer is asked to retain the check for 14 days for record-keeping purposes, after which the check can be destroyed.

Digital Insight is also a partner with Golden Pacific in providing additional mobile banking functions that include checking balances, viewing transaction history, paying bills and transferring funds.
