FTC to convene workshop on mobile payments

The Federal Trade Commission will be taking a look at mobile payments later this month. The FTC is holding a workshop called "Paper, Plastic… or Mobile" on April 26, 2012 at the FTC Conference Center in Washington D.C. The FTC originally announced the workshop in January but has just recently published the agenda, speakers and panelists who will be a part of the event.

The workshop will look at several issues with mobile payments such as technology and business models. It will feature speakers from mobile payment start-ups like Seth Priebatsch, LevelUp's "Chief Ninja, and Ben Milne, CEO of Dwolla, as well as payment executives from companies such as Intuit, Google, MasterCard and Boku. Representatives from law enforcement, government, consumer advocacy and academia will also speak.

The workshop is free to the public and the FTC will provide a webcast of the event. The full agenda is available at the FTC site.
