Direct carrier billing company Fortumo is expanding its partnership with Spotify in southeast Asia, with an emphasis in Indonesia and Thailand. 

Fortumo is working with the telco company Telkomsel in Indonesia while its partnerships in Thailand include AIS and DTAC, according to a press release. 

"Local payment options are crucial for companies looking to grow their user base and revenue internationally," Andrea Boetti, vice president of global business development at Fortumo, said in the press release. "Carrier billing is one of the most popular alternative payment methods in Asia, matches well with the mobile-only audience and opens up additional opportunities with telcos for co-marketing and bundling."
