Fiserv adds 50 banks, credit unions to merchant services since First Data merger

Fiserv Inc. said that more than 50 financial institutions that use its core processing platforms have added merchant solutions to their portfolio between its July merger with First Data and the end of 2019.

The combination of the merchant offering with Fiserv’s core processing technology has allowed these companies to identify business banking opportunities, allow for digital enrollment of merchant solutions and offer the cloud-based Clover POS platform for small and medium-sized businesses.

Among the FI's that added merchant solutions since the merger, they include First Foundation Bank, which has 20 locations across California, Hawaii and Nevada and Central Missouri Community Credit Union.

"Our new offering is helping us attract small business merchant customers, enabling them to create a merchant account in minutes and giving us the opportunity to digitally market additional services to them," Tracy Miller, senior vice president, director of depository services at First Foundation Bank, said in a release from Fiserv.

Carol White, CEO of Central Missouri Community Credit Union, said adding merchant solutions from Fiserv would allow it to provide significant value to its small business members.

"Payment acceptance is the lifeblood of small business, and we look forward to partnering with those small business owners in their future success," White said, in the release.
