FIS to develop 300,000 square-foot headquarters in Jacksonville

Fidelity National Information Services Inc., which operates under the FIS name, announced that it has received city and state approvals to build a 12-story, 300,000 square-foot headquarters in Jacksonville, Florida, according to a spokesman.

FIS will consolidate three of its buildings in Jacksonville into the new tower, which is scheduled to open in June 2022. FIS would not comment on the economic assistance package from the city and state, but officials previously announced $20.9 million in state and local assistance being used to develop a new headquarters for a major global fintech company.

"From the first day that FIS called this city home, Jacksonville has been a true partner in our ability to attract a world class workforce and achieve our growth goals," Gary Norcross, president and CEO of FIS, said in a press release.

The consolidation followed the $35 billion acquisition of Worldpay. The new headquarters will include the additional hiring of 500 new employees at the site. The combined companies have about 55,000 employees worldwide.

The companies provide a range of technology platforms and services to the banking, payments, insurance and other industries.
