Fifth Third adds Android Pay, Microsoft Wallet to the mix

Fifth Third Bancorp customers can now add payment cards to Android Pay and Microsoft Wallet, according to a press release. This is in addition to the FI's existing digital and mobile wallets, which inlcude Apple Pay, Masterpass and Samsung Pay.

"At a time when more consumers want to make mobile payments, Fifth Third is pleased to be one of the first banks to offer all five mobile payment options," Greg Carmichael, Fifth Third Bancorp President and CEO, said in a statement. "We are committed to providing secure and convenient ways for our customers to bank when and how they want."

Fifth Third said it has seen the popularity of mobile payments grow among its customers in the past few years. The bank did not reveal specific numbers in the press release, but said that since linking with Apple Pay in 2015, mobile payments by customers have increased 133 percent.
