Europe's biggest furniture retailer has expanded the features of its Wirecard mobile payment app to include Maestro and credit cards.

Wirecard's Mobel Inhofer customers in France, Austria and Switzerland can now provide customers delivery payment options of direct debit, credit card and Maestro, according to a press release.

Möbel Inhofer customers can pay an initial deposit for items on the spot when they make a purchase, and then settle the remaining amount upon receipt of the delivery. This is made possible by the combination of an app and an mPOS device, which works in conjunction with mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones, according to the release.

Wirecard developed the payment app with IT software company Ametras.

"Our customers throughout Europe are increasingly demanding customized shopping experiences. Since this of course also affects payment methods, we are pleased that we can now offer an additional option. With Wirecard's payment app, our customers can conveniently pay for their furniture purchases at their doorstep and cross out further installments from their to-do list," said Edgar Inhofer, Mobel Inhofer leader, in the release.
