Cybera tops 20K users of secure payment solution

Cybera Inc., a Nashville, Tenn.-based provider of network and application security services for clients such as Shell, ExxonMobile, O'Reilly Auto Parts and Samsonite, said it has reached 20,000 deployments of its payment ADN solution.

An ADN — or application defined network — is an enterprise data network using virtual network and security components to provide a dedicated logical network for each application. Each ADN has a customized security and network policy to meet the requirements of the specific app.

Typical site-to-site networks with multiple applications introduce significant security threats, the company said, as technologies such as guest Wi-Fi, mobile payment and cloud services open these private networks to security breaches, creating significant complexity in security policies and network administration.

Cyber ONE's ADN solution provides customizable and specific security features that address precise application needs in several critical retail arenas including point-of-sale, loyalty programs and payment processing, the company said.

POS systems are vital to the delivery of applications within a commercial enterprise environment, and Cybera said its POS ADN lets vendors remotely support and repair a system via high-speed broadband, thereby lowering costs by eliminating the slow business line used for remote access.

Transaction-based loyalty programs that use POS data can jeopardize payment data security, the company said, and its loyalty ADN segregates loyalty traffic from payment traffic, ensuring customer-data security.

While payment processing is key to commercial businesses, achieving PCI DSS compliance is complex, the company said, and its payment processing ADN is a PCI DSS-compliant environment and provides a dedicated logical network that segments the cardholder data environment from all other apps and devices.

"Our ADN platforms offer the core attributes of security, reliability, segmentation and consolidation," Clint Duffey, the company's president and CEO, said in a news release. "There is simply nothing else available on the market today for small to large multi-site enterprise customers providing such a robust application security system and delivering the significant capital cost savings that come with this model."
