CorFire partners with Wirecard to enable NFC payments in Europe
The mobile commerce technology provider CorFire has announced a collaboration with the German payments provider Wirecard AG to allow near field communications service for mobile payments across Europe.
Under the agreement, according to a news release, Wirecard's products and services have integrated CorFire's MPSA, an NFC API stack that allows mobile apps to support NFC secure services such as Visa payWave.
Wirecard also has launched its own Trusted Service Manager using CorFire's CorTSM product to enable NFC payment for its Visa stored value account products, according to the release.
"Since the launch of our mobile commerce solution over 10 years ago, CorFire has been at the forefront of bringing mobile commerce solutions to the broader, global market," Jae Chung, president and CEO of CorFire, said in the release. "Aligning with Wirecard is another example of our commitment to accelerating the adoption of mobile payments."
Susanne Steidl, managing director, acquiring and issuing, for Wirecard, said the company is committed to providing customers with technology that anticipates consumer and market needs. "By adding CorFire to our TSM integration portfolio, our aim is to further enhance NFC connectivity to the leading market participants on the service provider and MNO side," she said in the release.
Atlanta-based CorFire, the mobile commerce business of SK C&C USA, offers three core technology solutions: its Trusted Services Manager platform, CorTSM; the CorPay mobile wallet platform; and Cor360, a suite of mobile marketing services.
Frankfurt-based Wirecard AG is an independent provider of outsourcing and white label solutions for electronic payment transactions.
