CIBC rated best in Canada for mobile banking

Surviscor, a firm that provides analysis and ranking for Canadian digital customer experiences provided by service firms, has released its 2017 Canadian mobile banking ratings.

CIBC took first place in this year's ratings, edging out National Bank for the top spot. Tangerine, which took top honors last year, fell to fourth place.

Scotiabank remained in the top three for the fourth straight review, a press release said.

Surviscor's proprietary scorCard methodology measures more than 2,500 objective use-related criteria over four main device families, reviewing each firm by five independent categories, each weighted according to industry importance through direct feedback with industry firms.

The scorCard Review, now in its fourth edition, is the most comprehensive analysis in North America providing an impartial assessment of the overall mobile banking customer experience at Canadian banking institutions, according to the release.

"Mobile services have come a long way in the last year which was great to see. Mobile offerings are getting closer to an equal experience with the traditional online experience that is core to the mobile interaction" said Surviscor President Glenn LaCoste in the release. "We are excited to increase the amount of firms in this review to better serve Canadian choices. We are surprised to see some smaller firms in the top 10 and would like to congratulate CIBC for its win in this ultra-competitive industry" added LaCoste.
