Carrier biller txtNation expanding its European presence

Direct carrier biller txtNation is expanding into Belgium. The company announced that it has officially switched on direct connectivity across all mobile operators in Belgium.

"Being a Tier 1 mobile aggregator in any market provides us with far more options for growth, and Belgium is no exception," txtNation Director Michael Whelan said. " With our already high levels of business in this market, we can now provide even better technical support, customer care, throughput and increased reliability to our clients going forward."

Along with direct carrier billing services, txtNation said it will also be providing services like premium SMS and bulk SMS messaging. Its carrier billing services are due to launch later this year.

With direct carrier billing, developers and content providers are able to offer consumers the option of placing purchases of digital goods directly on their monthly mobile phone bills. It's an especially popular payment method for consumers with limited access to bank and credit card accounts.

Along with Belgium, txtNation is also looking at entering the Cyprus market later this year. The company said it has completed commercial negotiations with carriers in Cyprus and is starting live testing with those networks. Those connections should be live by Q3 2013, the company said.
