Carrier biller DIMOCO sees sharp increase in revenue, transactions

Austrian mobile payment and messaging service DIMOCO said it saw an increase in mobile payment transactions and revenue year-over-year. For 2012, the company's mobile payment revenues increased by 65 percent, DIMOCO said. Mobile transactions increased 31 percent.

"Mobile payment is a popular payment method in Europe," said Gerald Tauchner, DIMOCO CEO. High smartphone penetration and strong market for digital content have led DIMOCO to becoming one of the most important players on the market, he said.

DIMOCO also reported that average transaction amounts rose as well, going from €2.32 ($3.00) to €3.32 ($4.43).

DIMOCO provides mobile carrier billing services allowing consumers to purchase digital content by placing the cost of the purchase on their monthly phone bills.
