Capterra study shows most UK freelancers, small businesses would consider digital bank

Capterra released a study showing that 90% of small businesses and freelancers in the U.K. currently using a traditional bank would consider switching to a digital bank.

The study found that while 23% of respondents in the survey had a digital bank as their primary account, 77% of the remaining respondents that used traditional banks would consider switching to a digital bank.

"Sole traders and micro businesses are still choosing traditional banking for their primary business account," Sonia Navarette, content analyst at Capterra, said in a company release. "However there is a growing trend in adopting digital banks. The flexibility and ease of use associated with this type of banking has proved to be the most significant advantage for the fast pacing industries and busy sole-traders.

The study polled 607 small businesses and freelancers also found that while 57% of respondents already had a mobile banking app, 82% believed it was important for a bank to have a physical branch.
