Boston-area FI joins ATM cardless cash movement

Avidia Bank, a community FI serving suburban Boston, has partnered with FIS to offer QR code-based cardless cash access at its ATMs.

Avidia Bank of Hudson, Massachusetts, has partnered with banking and payments technology provider FIS to offer cardless cash ATM access. The collaboration will make the $1.2 billion suburban Boston FI one of the first banks in New England to offer the service, according to a press release.

Avidia's QR code-enabled cardless cash solution lets customers stage a transaction before stepping up to the ATM and then receive an eReceipt for the transaction on their device.

Cardless Cash joins other FIS mobile banking features in the Avidia mobile app, including remote check deposit and person-to-person payments. Other enhancements with cardless cash upgrade will include the addition of touch ID and passcode to give customers quick access to app features.

"We are always looking for new ways to improve service and enhance the banking experience for our customers," said Avidia Bank President and CEO Mark R. O'Connell. "As the pace of banking speeds up, our customers want access how and where they choose. Cardless Cash is another solution to meet those needs."
