Boku works with Corethree on mobile ticketing

Partnership will enable consumers to charge their bus tickets to their mobile bill using a smartphone app.

Corethree, a mobile ticketing technology company, Thursday announced a new partnership with direct carrier billing-based mobile payments firm Boku. The partnership will enable consumers to charge their bus tickets to their mobile bill using Boku's payment solution via their existing mobile application built by Corethree, according to a press release.

"This is a landmark partnership for Corethree that enables carrier based mobile payments for m-ticketing," Ashley Murdoch, CEO of Corethree, said in a statement. "Boku's payment solution fits seamlessly with our own technology and will provide more innovative opportunities for our clients and their customers. We are constantly evolving our business to bring greater opportunities to our clients and this is another very positive step in our journey."

The two companies said they will work together on a number of products for clients in the mobile ticketing area as well as looking at opportunities to expand the technology further into new areas. The initial implementation will focus on adding Boku's mobile payment method to Corethree's turnkey mobile product, MoBus.

"Working with Corethree is a great alignment for both companies and takes mobile payments into another new territory, bringing the convenience of mobile payments to ticketing systems," Boku CEO Jon Prideaux said in a statement. "Corethree has a breadth of experience in this arena that makes for an outstanding partnership, bringing two diverse types of technology together into an outstanding consumer offering."
