Bango offers book lovers direct carrier billing on GoSpoken.com

Beware, bibliophiles. You now have one more way to spend money on books.

Bango, a mobile analytics and payment company, announced it is making direct carrier billing available to consumers of Mobcast's GoSpoken.com, a retail platform for digital books on mobile devices. In other words, readers worldwide can now pay for eBooks by placing the charge directly on their phone bills.

"By using Bango to deliver a consistent operator payment experience to all our customers we have seen a marked increase in sales," said Stephen Crawford, operations director at Mobcast, in the announcement. "Conversion rates using operator billing are much higher than using other methods, and easier for our consumers.”

Crawford said that 75 percent of Mobcast's customers choose to pay through direct carrier billing.

Bango said its analysis shows that online retailers who offer direct carrier billing see substantially higher conversion rates.

"We see an average of 70 percent payment conversion through operator billing compared to 40% for credit card”, said Anil Malhotra, SVP Marketing at Bango. “The customer experience is crucial and with operator billing a simple single-click is all that’s required to make a purchase."

Along with the payment services, Bango said it also provides Mobcast with reporting and analysis  to track revenue, conversion rates and gain information about customers.
