As quick as a Zelle? Banks rename P2P play
The banks behind the person-to-person service once known as clearXchange have renamed the service to something the Urban Dictionary describes as meaning best girl ever.
Early Warning, which is owned by the banks participating in the P2P service, confirmed to the Wall Street Journal the new name as Zelle. The Journal notes clearXchange was never promoted as the corporate brand for the service.
Early Warning did not say when Zelle will launch, but the Journal speculated it could be in October.
