Apple makes direct carrier billing a reality in Russia

San Francisco-based direct carrier billing company Boku is working with Apple and Beeline in Russia to provide the necessary backend support for the purchases.

Apple is finally making it possible for iPhone users in Russia to buy digital goods without a credit card through a partnership with Beeline that gives consumers the abiltiy charge purchases on their mobile phone bill, according to multiple media reports.

Beeline is the domestic unit of Amsterdam-based carrier VimpelCom.
