American Express announced in a tweet Monday it would end the Plenti rewards program on July 10 and consumers will lose all accumulated points at that time.

The card network first launched Plenti in 2015 to much fanfare with retailers such as Chili's, ExxonMobil, Macy's and Rite Aid, along with digital content providers such as AT&T and Hulu.

Chili's and Macy's dropped out of the Plenti last year. Amex never really added to its initial stable of retailers and many industry observers thought Plenti had been in danger of folding for some time.
