American Express has announced the launch of AmEx Pay in Canada as part of an update to its Android mobile app, according to a press release.

AmEx Pay is available exclusively through the AmEx app for eligible consumer, small business and corporate cards issued by AmEx Bank of Canada.

"The launch of AmEx Pay is another example of our commitment to innovation and providing our cardmembers with more ways to use their cards," said Suat Alaybeyoglu, vice president of consumer acquisition and management at American Express Canada. "Cardmembers can shop with ease using their mobile devices, while continuing to experience the service they've come to expect from American Express."

To get started, American Express cardholders can activate an eligible American Express Card with AmEx Pay on an eligible Android device by downloading or updating the AmEx app.
