Amazon Payments finds success with mobile purchases
In 2016, 32 percent of Pay with Amazon transactions came through a mobile device, Amazon announced Tuesday in a press release.
Overall, more than 33 million customers have used Amazon Payments to make a purchase. The company said that Pay with Amazon payment volume nearly doubled with new verticals including government payments, travel, digital goods, insurance, entertainment, nonprofits and charities.
"As we have introduced new experiences with merchants, we have seen a significant increase in the number of customers using the information from their Amazon account to make purchases on merchant websites," Patrick Gauthier, vice president of Amazon Payments, said in a statement.
