Ally Bank launches second generation of mobile banking

Ally Bank is moving right along with mobile banking initiatives. The FI recently announced the expansion of its product suite to include a second generation of Ally Mobile Banking apps.

According to announcement from Ally, The new iteration of Ally Mobile Banking responds to customers' most frequently requested functions with Ally eCheck Deposit, bill pay, and funds transfers to and from other banking institutions. Deposits and product innovation executive, Diane Morais, said that within its first six months, the Ally Mobile Banking app tallied more than 167,000 downloads. She said the FI anticipates even greater adoption with the second release.

"Customers are looking for the easiest ways to access and manage their money," Morais said in an Ally announcement. "We've listened closely, and Ally Mobile Banking's enhanced functionality now meets both their wants and needs."

The new Ally Bank mobile app includes 24/7 live customer service, ATM fee reimbursement, and Ally Perks debit rewards and Popmoney person–to–person payment. The FI's secondary app — available to customers and non–customers alike — is one of only a few apps capable of locating both nearby ATMs and cash-back locations in the U.S.
